Noelle K. Barnes is the Founder and Managing Director of Abstract Marketing LLC, a provider of marketing and brand building solutions for small businesses, artists, musicians, filmmakers, authors and entrepreneurs.
Noelle commands a 360-degree view of marketing communications. She’s assisted with the launch of new brands, produced live events, and managed PR campaigns for corporate clients across various industries, in addition to developing retail and web-based promotions. Through Abstract Marketing, Noelle currently provides marketing and production services for filmmakers, entrepreneurs, content creators and social media marketing companies. Noelle also consults with authors and artists, and recently spearheaded the ARTivism! Committee for the Harlem-based National Action Network.
Prior to launching Abstract Marketing in 2009, Noelle worked as Development Manager at Grey Alliance, Grey Global Group’s entertainment marketing wing. There, she developed and implemented entertainment-based marketing platforms for P&G brands CoverGirl, Secret, and Pantene, as well as Boost Mobile and Varsity Spirit Corp.
Noelle established the “Grassroots Marketing Toolbox” for CoverGirl’s Queen Latifah inspired ‘Queen Collection’ makeup brand in 2006. The award-winning integrated marketing concepts were one facet of a three-year campaign that included a nationwide makeover tour and sponsorship of multiple Queen Latifah entertainment properties. The results: over 100,000 one-on-one quality trial experiences, plus national media exposure online, in press and at radio.
By building interactive bridges between brands and their consumers where they played—online, at festivals, concerts, movies, and special events—Noelle crafted targeted, culturally resonant promotions for clients. Plus, valuable revenue support for artists. Rihanna, Queen Latifah, Rick Ross, Nicole Scherzinger, Mariel Hemingway, Sean Garrett, Angie Martinez and MC Hammer are among the artists Noelle has enjoyed working with.
Noelle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Entertainment Business from New York University’s Gallatin School for Individualized Study. She graduated with two pursuits in mind: blazing an off-the-beaten career path fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit, and helping others to do the same. Abstract Marketing is the vehicle that allows Noelle to further her mission, while offering her unique business-building skill set to empower new voices and fresh brands beyond the mainstream.
