The Aria Hotel, Prague ~ Billie Holiday meets Bendrich Smetana

The 5-star Aria Hotel reigns supreme as a “musical haven for lovers of luxury and the arts.” Each of the Aria’s 52 rooms are uniquely inspired by a famous musician or composer. Framed images with caricatures of these master musicians accentuate the modern decor beautifully. Be prepared to tell the front desk which musical floor you wish to spend your time upon check-in. Whether classical, opera, jazz or contemporary music, pick whichever style causes your heart to beat in triple time from several genre choices.

ARIA HOTEL SMETANA LUXURY SUITE

Smetana Luxury Suite, Aria Hotel

The Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and Luxury Suites are plush and welcoming. Decorated in warm tones and natural colors, the interior design has an art-deco vibe created by Versace apprentices, designers Rocco Magnoli and Lorenzo Carmellini. My own Ella Fitzgerald themed junior suite was as spacious as it was mellifluous. As I walked in, Ella’s three octaves greeted me — the rooms all feature an iPod fueled, hi-def sound system. Check out the Smetana Deluxe Suite above and the “Lady Day” Suite here.

The Aria Hotel is tucked away in the historic Mala Strana district of Prague near many of the city’s most impressive sights. You’ll find Prague Castle, St Nicholas Cathedral and the Old Town Square a short romantic walk away, as are the Charles Bridge over Vltava River, the Royal Gardens, and the State Opera House.

Noelle in Lesser Town Prague

Hanging out in Lesser Town

Despite it’s convenient location in the center of a busy landmark part of town, the Aria’s über-courteous staff excels at providing guests a serene escape from the hustle and bustle beyond its front doors.

Fine dining inside the Aria’s CODA restaurant will quickly become a daily to-do for traveling foodies. Chef David Sasek’s ever-evolving “New Czech” menu features fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farmers. The Pink Roasted Lamb Chops, Beef Shank Goulash and Dandelion Sorbet are among Coda’s most flavorful offerings. The breathtaking view from their rooftop dining terrace is another.
